Independent Woman

So I goofed. I changed my voter registration recently so that I'd be independent from any political affiliation. I was getting tired of saying I was a democrat and having the party be a do-nothing. However, the GOP doesn't seem to be doing anything either. (see: economic "stimulus" plan.)

Well my mistake came when I put "independent" on my registration form. Apparently "independent" and "nonpartisan" are two completely different things.

The American Independent Party apparently believes the following:

America and California need the leadership of the American Independent Party (California affiliate of the Constitution Party). We pledge to:
  • Reduce immigration, and stop all government subsidies to illegal aliens; no driver's licenses for illegals;
  • Immediately terminate international trade agreements such as NAFTA, WTO, CAFTA and the proposed FTAA, and stop sending high paying American jobs to foreign countries;
  • Stop the undeclared wars which are daily costing American lives and billions of tax dollars;
  • Protect the right to life of the innocent unborn;
  • Uphold traditional marriage and family values;
  • Defend America's moral values; keep God in the pledge of allegiance;
  • Defend Second Amendment rights;
  • Get rid of the Federal income tax, and restore a tariff based revenue system;
  • Stop reckless spending, including foreign aid, and take care of America's domestic needs;
  • End debt financing of both Federal and State governments;
  • Restore a debt free, interest free money system;
  • Support high standards in education, including encouragement of private schools and home schooling;
  • Stop the pillage of consumers and taxpayers by the energy/utility monopolies;

Oops... I suppose I shouldn't mention that I'm a stem cell research advocate and a liberal Catholic.

Enjoying a day off...

I spent the weekend working in Pasadena for an institute. I'm trying to figure out what to do with myself today. I suppose I should go buy books for my online class, do my laundry, or run errands I didn't get to do this weekend, but meh. Why? I'm pretty content with sitting on the couch in my PJs doing nothing for the first time in 7 days. I'm just exhausted.

In other news, my online transfer should clear tomorrow and I'll be car payment FREE! Hooray!

Really... this is why I'm hot... and you're not.

Hi-larious. I normally don't condone rap music, nor like it. But this is pretty funny.

These are just a few of them.

Who said video games are bad for you?

On a lighter note, I stumbled across these.

A diabetic nightmare, I'm sure. But proof that video games can be pretty sweet.

The joke is on me...

Today has been one of those days where I should have called in sick and stayed in bed. There was bad news everywhere. I woke up and flipped on the normally lighthearted CW31 newscast to news that the stock market is dropping faster than pants on prom night. Not only was that the sole focus of their 'serious news' segment, but they proceeded to do a picture in picture of the falling stock numbers and place it in the corner of the screen to watch for the rest of the newscast.

A trainer at the gym once told me that people don't check their heart rate on cardio machines because they get freaked out watching their heart rate rise. The same principle can be applied to the stock market fiasco this morning. I did not like watching the negative stock numbers rise (or fall, I guess) and it apparently set the tone for the rest of the day.

Everything went wrong today. There were about 7 accidents on the freeway today; our email and print server went down making work impossible; it was rainy and cold; Heath Ledger kicked the bucket; and I was inundated with stupid questions at work. I'm telling you... it was a full moon or something. I needed another day off.

Cat Owner's Lament

Because I know everyone that has a cat can relate to this:

There is sound, so please adjust your volume settings.

Minor Details is Live

I've decided to maintain two blogs this year. My MySpace one will stay, but I'll just update both if they are relevant. I hope this blog will act as a portfolio of sorts for my stationary business. But until I get that off the ground, it will just seem pretty random.
